Directions to farm

The postcode for satnav or google maps is NE19 1JZ, this will bring you to the top of Old Town Farm road end where you will find a tub of flowers and a sign for Holiday Cottages

For those with a good old fashioned map then Old Town Farm is located on the B6320 , one mile south of Otterburn village. It is just off the A68 and the A696

Continue down farm road for 100m and take first left at a large poly tunnel and a ‘Holiday Cottage’ sign.

Pass in front of cow shed that is currently under demolition

Directions to The Granary

After the cow shed you will see a row of farm cottages to your right, drive behind them and take the very short track down towards  a gate  with a sign on saying holiday cottage and a log shed next to it. This is the parking area for the Granary which you will see has a long set of stone steps up the outside .

Please don’t park on top of the metal grid which covers a well in the corner of the parking area next to the log shed!

Entrance to the Granary is via the boot room on the ground floor  (rather than small door at top of steps which is only about 5ft10″ – can be a hazard for anyone not hobbit-sized!) For the boot room entrance go through the gap in the wall and enter via the garden where you will see a short set of steps and the ‘back door’. .

Please be aware- There is a very small step down into the garden which should be lit if arriving in winter/dark if security lights are doing their job!

Directions to The Hemmel

After the cow shed , to the left, you will see a high rendered wall with a planter and an old garden roller next to it and a set of wooden gates – the roller has a holiday cottage sign on it.

Park up here and pass through gates and cross the walled garden using the path. The path is not lit in winter but there are good lights outside the garden wall in the parking area and there should be some lights turned on outside the hemmel if it is dark.

The path leads you to a patio which is outside the Hemmel – the left hand side of the building (kate lives in the other half of the building, to the right)

The entrance door is the grey/glass one to the right of the patio where there is an entrance hall for leaving coats and boots/shoes

Booking and Payment Information

There is currently no online payment system on this website but if you wish to book then please either email, phone or message Kate Kirsopp-Reed, using the details provided, to discuss available dates and payments.

I am unable to accept card payments but can provide bank details for a bank transfer (preferable, as the closest bank is 25miles from otterburn!) or details for cheque payment.

For card payments please check airbnb or holiday lettings websites where the cottage are also advertised. They will charge a booking fee of up to 15% so booking direct with Kate is obviously preferable once you have established your chosen dates are available
